I’m crying. I’m crying, and I think… 

Between memories and reminiscences, Racha Baroud unveils the unspoken.

Through voices, images and with the body in resonance, she reveals the mechanisms of an unconscious heritage.

In this performance, she revisits the intimate history of her family and finds the hope of a reconciliation.

Biography:

Born in Paris in 1985, Racha Baroud is a Lebanese actress and director. Besides her Master in Theatre Studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle, she trained in Paris in L’Atelier du jeu led by Jacques Fontaine. She later focused on physical work with Studio Matejka, based in the Grotowski Institute in Poland and deepened her craft in the frame of several workshops in Europe particularly among Alessio Castellacci, Irena Tomazin and Theodoros Terzopoulos.

In 2015, she staged her first performance Today was my birthday, a musical tribute to the theatre of Tadeusz Kantor.

In 2020, she co-directed the documentary Ali, Hachem et Khaled in collaboration with Roy Arida.

In the continuity of her last piece "What if those tears were not only mine?", in the frame of a research program supported by Pro-Helvetia Cairo, during the spring 2023, Racha Baroud will explore the theme of unconscious heritage with the patients of the Psychiatric Hospital of Malévoz (Valais-Switzerland).

في ليلة، كنتُ وحدي في جلّ البحر. زارني موكبُ الوحدة لكلّ نساء هذه العائلة. كلّ واحدة مع قصّتها الفريدة ووحدتها الخاصّة…

انسالت الدموع على خديّ واحدة تلو الأخرى. كنتُ أبكي وأبكي، ولكن هذه الدموع لم تكن لي.

بين الذكريات وما تبقّى منها، تعرّي رشا بارود المستور بواسطة الكلام، والصورة والجسد فالتردّدات، كاشفةًً لإرث في اللاوعي. تعيد زيارة التاريخ الحميم لعائلتها من خلال هذا العرض واجدةُ الأمل للمصالحة.

سيرة شخصيّة:

رشا بارود ممثّلة ومخرجة من أصل لبنانيّ، من مواليد باريس في 21 حزيران 1985. بالتوازي مع درجة الماجستير في الدراسات المسرحيّة من جامعة السوربون الجديدة، انضمّت إلى أتيليه دو جو لجاك فونتين. واصلت تدريباتها التي ركّزت على الجسد والصوت في "استوديو ماتيجكا"، ومقرّه في معهد "جروتوفسكي" في بولندا. وكذلك شاركت في ورش العمل المختلفة في أوروبّا، لا سيّما مع "أليسيو كاستيلاتشي" و"إيرينا تومازين" و"ثيودوروس ترزوبولوس".

قدّمت أوّل عرض لها "اليوم كان عيد ميلادي" في العام 2015 وهو تكريم موسيقيّ لمسرح تادوز كنتور". في العام 2020، شاركت في إخراج الفيلم الوثائقيّ "علي، هاشم وخالد" مع روي عريضة. وتتابع عملها الأخير "ماذا لو لم تكن تلك الدموع دموعي وحدي؟" في إطار برنامج بحثيّ مدعوم من قبل "بروهلفتسيا القاهرة" خلال ربيع عام 2023. ستستكشف رشا بارود قيمة الإرث اللاواعي مع مرضى المستشفى النفسيّ في ماليفوز (سويسرا).
