Intuitive 3D Sketching for 3D Printing by RapidManufactory
03, 04 & 05 June,
In English: 9am-12pm
In French: 2pm-5pm
This workshop is about 3D modeling, oriented on 3D sketching for 3Dprinting with Guillaume Crédoz (Arch. DPLG, former guest teacher and researcher UdM, UQaM). Participants will work on 3DSMax, and by the end of the workshop, each will get his 3D model 3Dprinted.
Day 1:
Quick review of 3Dprinting uses (examples from Ghouyoum’s practice) Introduction to 3D printing techniques (which type of 3Dprinter for which project) Selective Laser Sintering 3Dprinting Constraints and opportunities Theoretical geometry knowledge course (topology), the architecture of forms’ informations in 3D softwares Initial demonstration of Modeling technique_Underlining of the organization logic of the software
Day 2:
Step by step exercises highlighting the modeling strategies and tools. Every participant will be guided through the phases and will practice on various cases.
Day 3:
Each student will choose one of the exercises practiced the previous day and start to modify and personalize it in order to produce its final 3D model that will be 3Dprinted.
Visit of the 3Dprinting facilities and explanation of the production line.
3Dmodels will be put to 3Dprint and will be available for pick-up by June 11th.
