تعتبر "جلسات القبة" استكشافاً سمعياً وبصرياً غامراً للصوت والفضاء والذاكرة، تتمركز داخل القبة الخرسانية غير المكتملة لمعرض رشيد كرامي الدولي في طرابلس، لبنان. صممها المعماري أوسكار نيماير عام ١٩٦٢، وتوقفت أعمال بنائها فجأة بسبب الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية، لتبقي خلفها معلماً أثرياً فريداً يتميز بصدى صوتي غريب وغير معالج.

منذ عام ٢٠١٠، قام الفنان ومنسق الفعاليات فراس الحلاق بتحويل هذه الأيقونة المعمارية المهجورة إلى مختبر صوتي تعاوني. من خلال نسج العروض الحية، وتجارب الصوت المكاني، وصناعة الأفلام الوثائقية، يستكشف المشروع الطبقات المعقدة لتاريخ المدينة. تعمل التسجيلات الناتجة كشريط صوتي مؤثر وأرشيف حي، مما يبعث الحياة في ركام منسي. في النهاية، تزيل ""جلسات القبة"" الحدود بين الماضي والحاضر، مستعرضة كيف يمكن للتعاون الفني استعادة الأماكن المهجورة والحفاظ على التراث الثقافي من خلال تجارب صوتية مشتركة

"The Dome Sessions is an immersive audiovisual exploration of sound, space, and memory, anchored within the unfinished concrete dome of the Rachid Karami International Fair in Tripoli, Lebanon. Designed by Oscar Niemeyer in 1962, construction on the structure was abruptly halted by the Lebanese Civil War, leaving behind a monumental relic defined by a haunting, untreated acoustic reverb.

Since 2010, artist and curator Firas El Hallak has transformed this abandoned architectural icon into a collaborative sonic laboratory. By weaving together live instrumentation, spatial audio experiments, and documentary filmmaking, the project investigates the complex layers of Lebanon's urban history. The resulting recordings serve as both an evocative soundtrack and a living archive, breathing new life into a forgotten ruin. Ultimately, The Dome Sessions dissolves the boundaries between past and present, demonstrating how artistic collaboration can reclaim abandoned spaces and preserve cultural heritage through shared acoustic experiences.
