A powerful meeting of two icons of the Arab indie scene.
From satire and poetry to raw rebellion and electronic experimentation, Maryam Saleh has reshaped Egyptian alternative music since the 2010s. Alongside Zeid Hamdan, she revisited the legacy of legendary satirical folk musician Sheikh Imam, while pushing Arabic music into bold new territories.

The result: 

Halawella — a now-classic album blending electro-Arabic dancehall, disco, dub, and trip-hop, reviving songs that fiercely challenged colonialism and political power in Egypt.

🎤 This is the duo’s LAST show in Beirut for the Halawella project, before Maryam Saleh launches her new album.
