“Sihr سِحِرْ” is a multi-sensorial performance by Petra Serhal starting on the 31st of October at no/mad utopia gallery.

Get ready to be bewitched with aromatic and medicinal plants, flowers, and natural material through smell, touch, vision and taste, while listening to stories of women’s relation to love, loss, nature and magic. Petra will take you on an experience of ancestral healing, care, magic and witchcraft inspired by healing tools from her grandmothers and witches she met during her exploration.

This performance is a gesture of care amid normalized global violence, where both lands and bodies are in a state of precarity. It is part of the series Gesture of Care that explores care as a method of research, creation and sharing.

About Petra Serhal

Petra Serhal is a multidisciplinary artist creating multi-sensorial work. Her work revolves around the experiential aspects of performance while using choreography as her main tool for research and practice. Her work examines the body, language, and sound in relation to movement and space, addressing themes like memory, absence,  fragmentation, body as archive and embodiment. Recently, Serhal's work has been focusing on olfactory art, exploring the power of scent and nature as a means of identity, rootedness, and spatial creation.

«سِحر» هو عرضٌ أدائيٌّ حسّيّ لـ بترا سرحال، يُعرض في حديقة  غاليري نوماد يوتوبيا، الجميزة، ابتداءً من ٣١ تشرين الأول .

استعدّوا لتجربةٍ سِحريةٍ مع النباتات العطرية والطبية والزهور، من خلال الحواس: الشمّ، واللمس، والرؤية، والتذوّق، بينما تستمعون إلى حكاياتٍ عن علاقة النساء بالحبّ والفقدان والطبيعة والسحر.

سيختبر الجمهور طقوس الشفاء والرعاية والسحر والشعوذة، المستوحاة من أدواتٍ علاجيةٍ طبيعيةٍ استخدمتها جدّات بترا، ، والساحرات اللواتي التقت بهنّ خلال رحلة استكشافها.
