Mar Mikhael has witnessed many changes over the course of the past century, and most notably during the past 5 years. This charming neighborhood has more than one secret to reveal and numerous stories to tell. Join us on a tour to discover Mar Mikhael’s different faces and get immersed in its unique atmosphere. We’ll climb up the stairs, walk down narrow streets, and stop by historic places to hear anecdotes and learn more about how Mar Mikhael evolved and became what it is today.

Tours will be in English and Arabic.

GAIA-Heritage is hosting a weeklong event of activities In Mar Mikhael within the EU-funded project MEDNETA, which intends to build a Mediterranean network of creativity, linking the artists, craftsmen and designers (ACDs) of the partner cities – Athens, Tunis, Valencia, Florence, Hebron and Beirut – around collaborative activities.

Following the conference ‘Creativity and Regeneration in Mar Mikhael’ (July 2014), In Mar Mikhael will discuss issues of the neighbourhood's urban environment in both panels and workshops, with both residents and stakeholders.

It will also include two Neghbourhood Tours on Saturday 17 January and Sunday 18 January.
