SRHR Film Days

SRHR Film Days
Beirut Film Society (BFS) in partnership with the Asfari Institute for Civil Society and Citizenship at the American University of Beirut (AUB), is organizing SRHR Film Days in two different venues in Lebanon from the 29th of November to the 2nd of December 2022. This event will be in parallel to BFS Beirut Shorts International Film Festival 2022 which will take place in its 16th edition at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU).
The SRHR Film Days will screen short films from the South West Asia and North Africa (SWANA) region and other countries that will offer an intersectional all-inclusive feminist understanding of SRHR. After each screening, there will be a panel to discuss the films with the audience. The event will be offline and open to the public. Two of the four days (30 Nov & 1 Dec) will require booking a FREE ticket to attend the screenings at the Asfari Institute for Civil Society and Citizenship at American University Beirut.
This event aims at engaging young people in their diversities with artists, filmmakers, and civil society grassroots and seasoned activists in a series of screenings and discussions in hopes of creating strong and innovative alliances and networks. It will also help raise awareness on different thematic areas under SRHR such as menstruation, reproductive health and rights, and gender-based violence.
