Biography of Aliénor Khalifé
Aliénor Khalifé was born in September 1997 in Lebanon. She began taking piano lessons with Mohammad Sebalbal in Tripoli and continued in 2004 with Zvart Sarkissian in Beirut. She has also been a student at the National Music Conservatory in Lebanon for several years.
Aliénor Khalifé moved to Germany at the age of 15 and started her piano education in Leipzig in the piano-preparatory class “Nachwuchsförderklasse” at the University of Music and Theater Leipzig with Prof. Dietmar Nawroth before moving to Rostock to study for her bachelor of music at the University of Music and Theater with Prof. Stephan Imorde. Aliénor Khalifé is currently completing her master of music in piano pedagogy at the University of Music in Detmold with Prof. Alfredo Perl, where she played her final master piano exam in May 2022.
Aliénor Khalifé has taken master classes in Greece, England, Hungary, Spain, and Germany with, among others, Grigory Gruzman, Evgeni Koroliov, and Martino Tirimo. She feels particularly connected to the music of Bach, but also enjoys Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, as well as Rachmaninoff and Scriabin. She has had frequent opportunities to play harpsichord and fortepiano and participated in a master class of Christine Schornsheim in Germany. She began taking pipe organ lessons in March 2022.
Aliénor Khalifé has given several solo concerts in Lebanon: in Assembly Hall at the American University of Beirut, the Embassy of Switzerland in Beirut, the University of Balamand, the Safadi Center in Tripoli, and Kulturzentrum in Jounieh. She gave her debut concert with orchestra with “les Jeunesses Musicales du Liban JML” in 2017 under the direction of Dr. Walid Moussallem.
She enjoys playing chamber music with singers and with the trumpet player Louis-Justin Khalifé, her brother.
She has participated in numerous musical projects, particularly in kindergartens and schools, with the elderly and with amateurs. She believes deeply that music should be accessible to everyone.
Aliénor Khalifé is currently teaching piano at the Music and Art School of Bielefeld in Germany.
