« Biography »
Andréa Azzi is a Lebanese-Polish concert pianist born in Ghazir.
At the age of 5, she started taking private piano lessons and in 2001 entered the National Conservatory of Beirut.
In 2004, she became a student of Zeina Alam, piano professor at the music school of Université Saint-Esprit de Kaslik (USEK), where she also took theory, solfege and harmony courses with Rabih Abi Rached and Edouard Tourikian. In parallel, she enrolled in piano lessons intermittently at Ecole des Arts Ghassan Yammine (EDAGY).
Her first solo recital was in 2011, with the collaboration of the "Kulturzentrum" (centre culturel libano-allemand Jounieh).
She participated in:
- Numerous concerts at USEK, EDAGY and the Assembly Hall - American University of Beirut
- The Third National Piano Competition organized by Tripoli leaders Lions Club (winning third price in 2009)
- A number of masterclasses (Veronique Bonnecase 2011, Walid Hourani 2015, Alexander Kobrin 2015, Gloria Campaner 2016, Agathe Leimoni 2017, Pilar Valero 2017…)
- Summer piano intensive programs in: New York University - Steinhardt, directed by professors Marilyn Nonken and Eduardus Halim (2015), festival abruzzo Campli-Italy (2016) and Primavera Pianistica - Belgium (2017 and 2018).
In April 2016, Andréa graduated from USEK (II degree) with distinction. She also holds a BA in economics from the American University of Beirut, class of 2016.
As of September 2016, seeking higher musical education, she is enrolled in "Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris - Alfred Cortot", in the class of Michael Wladkowski. She was ranked second unanimously with compliments of the jury in 2017, and obtained her "diplôme supérieur d'enseignement" in 2020.
She is currently teaching in Paris, and working on obtaining the "diplôme supérieur d'éxecution".
