Amidst the current COVID-19 (The Corona Virus) crisis, this session is a reflection about infectious diseases and their spread through History, along with the understanding of how they were dealt with in the past and stopped seems of great importance. 

What happened during the times of Cholera, Black Death, Spanish flu, and many more!

In this free session the following topics will be brought up:

- The definition of ‘pandemic’

- Infectious diseases and their spread in time and geographical areas in the past

- Civil and governmental response to the most significant pandemic crisis to date

- How were they controlled?

- The role of vaccination at every stage

- What can the past teach us about this type of crisis situation?

Trainer's Bio:

Currently an instructor at the Lebanese American University, Lucy C Bajjani Ghor obtained a

PhD from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, where the object of study was the iconoclastic

struggle of the 8th century and the relation between eastern and western powers. She

participated in various congresses and seminars in Brazil and abroad, and has been dedicating

her professional life to teaching and researching.
