About the Trainer:
Mr Clark Soriano comes from the Philippines and has 18 years of managerial and coordination experience in the UN. He is an executive coach, lead facilitator, training professional, and certified coach. He holds and MBA degree in Negotiations and Conflict Management and a BA in Economics.
Mr Soriano's expertise is specifically in:
- Leadership learning focus on team leadership building and competencies
- UN coordination and integration in fragile and post-conflict contexts
- Organizational change and transition management (strategic planning, comparative advantage analysis, and prioritization)
He is owner/manager of Lead Your Change (www.leadyourchange.com) that offers managerial and life coaching for development professionals in humanitarian and post-conflict contexts. He is also Senior Advisor at UNDP.
Mr Soriano:

Life coaching for middle-level and senior leaders working in international and multi-cultural contexts to help address personal choices related to organizational transitions, competency development, and career change.
- Facilitated Change Management and Organizational Learning Processes (ongoing)
Led multi-function facilitation teams resulting in 5-year UN Development Assistance Plans for 10 UN Country Teams (Jordan, Moldova, Belize, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Albania, Tajikistan, India, Bhutan, and Indonesia). Trained and coached UN Coordination Officers: Latin America, Asia, Pacific, Europe, and CIS, Africa). Approaches and Delivering-as-One; Trained young yrofessionals (UN Secretariat)
- Led and Managed Teams in Fragile and Conflict Contexts
Directly managed 100 + staff in Sudan and coordinated UN activities in 20 states with a 3-year budget of USD 25 million. Led joint strategic exercises of the UN (Afghanistan, Nepal, and Sudan) to ensure coherence between the humanitarian, development, and peacekeeping planning frameworks. Served as Acting Chief of Staff for the UN Mission (Nepal) and OIC for the office of DSRSG (Sudan).
- Coordinated Multi-stakeholder Partnerships in Recovery and Humanitarian Transition
Managed the design of state-level development plans involving government, UN agencies, civil society, and bilateral partners.
- Designed Change Management Strategies for UN Country Teams
Completed, as part of a senior advisory team, the strategic review of the comparative advantages of the UN in Rwanda, Libya, and Kenya. Designed and facilitated leadership and staff retreats (Rwanda, Afghanistan, Bhutan, UN Women Central Africa, UNDP, and UN organizations in New York)
