About The Concert
Oyunu is an interdisciplinary performance through the eyes of a dancer, struggling with his identity and belief as he goes through phases fueled by physical changes, intimacy, insecurity, and oppression. The immersive show is a concert performance that features middle eastern avant-pop music, dance, aerial arts, vocals, and poetry.
Oyunu is an honorary journey that captures the life of the “Koçek” and re-adapts it to our time, revisiting the intriguing culture of these dancers. Spectators will get an insight into the creative legacy, and the ambience that shaped the effeminate male dancer’s life through original pop songs.
“Oyunu” is the name of the dance performed by these boys.
Duration: 60 minutes.
