Lean Sigma is an Operation improvement methodology adopted by manufacturing and service (including financial) companies worldwide. Lean Sigma combines the principles of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Lean Sigma aims to improve the quality, efficiency, and profitability of an Operation by using a selection of time-proven methodologies. Lean Manufacturing principles find their roots in the industrial revolution, but became widely expanded and adopted by the Japanese auto industry.
