Each session covers a topic - all business related! Our upcoming session is entitled “The Art Of Storytelling", A practical guide on how to tell stories to achieve your goals. Outline of the session: PART 1: Why are stories so important? We kick off the workshop by going back to basics. We take a look at key definitions and how stories are central to the way people communicate with each other. Stories surround us each and every day, and it’s a great way to exchange ideas, purpose and goals. 1. What is a story? 2. Stories make the world go round. PART 2: Let’s get practical: How can you tell a compelling story? Once we have established definitions, we are going to sink our teeth into what it takes to actually tell a story. This includes everything from pinpointing your target audience, to actually setting up the structure of your story, and how to add the right amount of salt and pepper to make your story stand out. To make sure you leave this workshop really knowing how to tell your own story, we are going to have a hands on approach, where you will be constructing a story all together with the instructor. 1. Know Your Audience 2. Set Up Your Narrative Arch 3. Capture Your Audience 4. Be Yourself PART 3: Now it’s Your Turn! Tell Us a Story In the final part of the workshop, you’ll have a chance to tell a story yourself. You will participate in a series of exercises that will help you get you one step closer to becoming a storyteller, and achieving your goals. |
About The Speaker:
After graduating from Georgetown University with a degree in English literature, Rhea pursued a masters in production media from Imperial College London, where she focused on podcasts and documentary film making. She then moved to Beirut, where she joined a digital agency through which she helped clients across industries tell their stories through various mediums including video, editorial and audio. In June 2018 after noticing a gap in the local podcast market, Rhea quit her job to focus more on creating audio content. She launched her own production company, Reyzin Media that strives to help tell the untold stories in Lebanon and the Middle East. She kicked off her company by choosing to give a voice to one of the underrepresented groups of the region: women. In February of this year Rhea launched Who Run the World a podcast that focuses on female leadership in the workplace, shedding a spotlight on career women making a difference in the region. Other podcasts Rhea is currently working on include a series that explores the underground cultural scene in Beirut, as well as a topical news podcast. |
