And So We Move! - Kite Edition -
A full-day outdoor movement program inspired from principles of contemporary dance designed to be enjoyed by anyone.
And So We Move! travels to Mhaidthe.
This beautiful village in the heart of the Metn mountains celebrates every year a 68 year old tradition of kite flying. During one day, villagers of all ages gather in the windiest spot and after a week of construction, boast their kite making skills and playfully compete for the highest flying kite. Eid el Tayaran, as it is called, creates an atmosphere of fun and spontaneity among all the participants. In this ambiance, you shall move! Liberating yourself of everyday tensions and rediscovering the innocent and simple pleasure of moving in your body.
On Sunday August 31, we invite you to enjoy a day of movement and tradition, as you discover this village and relive childhood memories. Corinne Skaff will propose a movement session based on contemporary dance priniciples to reconnect you with your body, find fluidity in your joints and freedom in your movement. Come together with others to engage in a different kind of dynamic and collaborative group work, learning to make creative use of your body in space.
Move and fly with us in Mhaidthe, experience a sense of joy that only the body knows.

About the Kite Flying Celebration:
In Mhaidtheh village the tradition of kite flying has been ongoing since 1946. After an interruption during the civil war, Eid el Tayaran celebration was resumed eight years ago upon the initiative of Salah Skaff. Back in the time of the fathers and grandfathers of this village, this activity was taken very seriously by all the villagers. Boys and girls, young and old would team up during an entire week to build their paper kites. They would then compete for the highest and most beautifully designed kite on Kite Flying Celebration day. Awards would be distributed a week later in a Dancing dinner with the election of Miss Tayaran. Check out details of the program on their Facebook event page.
