In relation to the premiere of Ghalia's Miles, we will imagine ourselves in alternative places, we will travel to a SEHNSUCHTSORT - a place we long to be. This ‘real’ dream will be the starting point and externalized by way of fiction - each participant will choose a work of fiction - a character from a book or a film, a poem or a song, who will carry the longing, who will make the journey. The participant will play the character in a short developed scene. The rest of the participants will act as a chorus on the guidance of the playing participant. The decisions that have to be made along the way will be illustrated by the use of paper and other materials - traces will be left and followed.
We aim at freeing fantasy completely and visualizing those dreams with theatrical means. We develop a clear dramaturgy rooted in fantasy, including personal as well as political questions, such as - what would be left behind and what is being expected to be found, what will change?
Participants write the character and chorus, play their character and direct their chorus in small groups for an internal presentation.
