Snowshoeing Barouk

Dear Wild Explorers,

The largest of Lebanon nature reserves, Shouf Biosphere Reserve stretches from Dahr Al-Baidar in the north to Niha Mountain in the south. It consists of 3 cedar forests, Maasser Al-Shouf, Barouk and Ain Zhalta – Bmohary.

These Cedar forests account for a quarter of the remaining cedar forest in Lebanon , and some trees are estimated to be 2,000 years old.

The #ShoufBiosphereReserve is a popular destination for hiking, bird watching, mountain biking and snowshoeing.

EVENT DETAILS:

Our hike will take place at the Barouk forest, where we will pass by the famous lake and through the old forest where you can see amazing picturesque scenes.

After the hike we will go to #FarmVille #Barouk to have lunch. A pleasant farmhouse located on an agricultural land next to Cezar guesthouses designed to function around a farming lifestyle where you can pick your own vegetables and fruits from the organic field, feed the animals, collect eggs and enjoy an authentic experience.

Duration: 3.5 hrs

WHAT TO WEAR & BRING:

Wear waterproof clothes, waterproof hiking shoes suitable for walking on snow.

Bring with you a backpack, sunscreen, sunglasses, cap and jacket. Hiking sticks optional.

Water and healthy snacks.

ID or Passport, Insurance Card (If available).
