The Table of Confidence with Valérie Cachard
The Table of Confidence with Valérie Cachard
The Table of Confidence is an one-to-one game with artist Valérie Cachard, in which a single spect-a(c)tor is invited to play and explore in an uncanny location at the Museum. Each participant will have an intimate exchange with Cachard through a card game that draws on themes from Gregory Buchakjian’s exhibition Abandoned Dwellings: Display of Systems - the city, the home, the object, space-time relationships, traces and abandonment.
Between 2010 and 2018 Valérie Cachard accompanied Gregory Buchakjian on an exploration of abandoned houses. She directed a film, took photos, notes and developed a series of scattered writings constantly questioning the outcome and format for this material. Currently, she is interested in experimenting with new found forms of theatrical expression in which she includes the thought process and experience of intimacy. With The Table of Confidence, she intends to recreate the sensations felt while exploring abandoned homes and buildings to share them with friends, acquaintances and strangers alike.
Each intervention lasts up to one hour. The exchange can take place in one of the following languages: Arabic, English or French.
