In the occasion of the visit of the new CEO and President of the Internet Society, Mr. Andrew Sullivan to Lebanon, we would like to reflect with you on the Internet’s meteoric rise and to imagine its future direction together.

How is the Internet today different from what it was twenty-five years ago? How will the Internet evolve in the future? As you know, many factors will affect the future of the Internet such as the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cyber Threats, Standards and Interoperability, and the role of Governments. But we also observe trends of consolidation in the Internet Economy – including growing forces of concentration, vertical and horizontal integration, and fewer opportunities for market entry and competition – that will certainly affect the decentralized structure of the Internet.
