This Sunday October 7 the beautiful village Baskinta is Waiting for us for an amazing, helpful, supportive and unique day.. Hiking, Apple Picking, Souk el Akel and more!

EVENT DETAILS:

We will start our day in the village of Baskinta, visit the Memorial Garden and tomb of Mikhail Naimy, and hike the most famous part of the Baskinta Literary Trail which passes by the summer home of Mikhail Naimy, Roman inscription, Cave of Sayf el Dawla, Saydet el Khalleh church and an old bridge. After the hike we will pass through apple orchards where we will have the opportunity to help the owners of these orchards picking up the apples, before we head back to the town to have the opportunity to watch the apple festival and Souk el Akel.

- Baskinta: A Lebanese village situated in the upper Metn, about 70 km from Beirut at an altitude ranging from 1250 meters to 1800 meters at Qanat Bakish. Ahead of Faraya, and at the foot of Mount Sannine. Baskinta is the hometown of writer and one of Lebanon’s greatest thinkers "Mikhael Naimy"

Baskinta is best known for Its agricultural sector especially apples. We will be participating with the municipality and Citizens in saving the Lebanese apples at Mawasem El Toufah.

- Baskinta Literary Trail (BLT):

The BLT is a novel idea with something for everyone! The trail, 24-km long, invites you to discover 22 literary landmarks related to several poets and novelists from the region including Mikhail Naimy, Amin Maalouf, Abdallah Ghanem, Suleiman Kettaneh, Rachid Ayoub and Georges Ghanem. The Baskinta Literary Trail starts and ends at el Chakhroub in front of the Memorial Garden of Mikhail Naimy.
