It is common to hear or to think that children playing are just enjoying themselves and occupying their time. However, researchers , educators, and psychologists have found that play is serious work for children, and it is very essential to children's development. Play is the language of children, and it is through play that children express themselves and develop their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social skills.
Unfortunately, play is becoming endangered due to the increase of screen time and the lack of understanding regarding the crucial role of play in the children's development. In this workshop, we will discuss in details the value of play, the different types of play, and the strategies that parents can utilize to encourage the kind of play that develops the brain of their children.
