Ride El Chouf
Take on Ride El Chouf on Saturday, July 16 2016 and cycle a historic loop from Deir El Qamar to Barouk to make a difference in the lives of patients at the Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon.
This event is brought to you by the Chain Reaction, a series of cycling events that aim to make a difference in the lives of patients and the charities that support them.
> What is the route?
A 25 km loop from Deir El Qamar to Barouk. The ride course will pass through Deir El Qamar, Beiteddine, Kfarnabrakh, Batloun and Barouk. .
> What does the $20 ticket price cover?
- Lunch at the finish line.
- Snacks and water at rest stops.
- Finish line celebrations including live music and entertainment in Deir El Qamar's historic square.
- Professional photography and drone footage.
- Full en-route support: including traffic management, support and gear vehicles, mechanical assistance and mobile medical support.

> Where will the funds go?
The funds raised will go towards:
(1) the Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL). The CCCL is a regional pioneer in pediatric cancer treatment with a mission of hope and a healthy future for children; where they are treated free of charge, with no cost at all on their parents.
(3) Steer North, a health promotion charity, founded by two young Lebanese, whose purpose is to inspire and empower people to live healthy, active and creative lives. Through its epic cycling journeys, Steer North creates a mobile community that cultivates capacity, inspires ideas, stimulates action and advances health from the grassroots up. The Chain Reaction is a result of Steer North's commitment to promote health and physical activity through cycling.
> I don't have a bicycle, can I still participate?
Yes! Bicycles and helmets will be provided at an additional cost of $7. Please make sure to select that option during registration. Bicycles are limited in number so make sure you register early to secure one!
> 25 km is a long way. What if I don't make it?
There will be several rest stops along the loop from Deir El Qamar to Barouk. Water and snacks will be provided at the rest stops for you to replenish your energy. In case of fatigue or injury, our support vehicles will escort you to the finish line.
> How do I get to Deir El Qamar and back?
Transportation to and from Beirut will be provided at an additional cost of $7. Please make sure to select that option during registration. Please note that the buses are not be equipped to transport your bicycle. Should you choose to drive to Deir El Qamar, there will be parking spots available at the start line.
> What time do we start?
- 8:00 am: Registration and Bike Collection in Deir El Qamar
- 9:00 am: Ride El Chouf cyclists launch
- 1:00 pm: Finish line celebrations commence in Deir El Qamar's square
- 3:00 pm: Buses transport riders back to Beirut
> What are the age restrictions for the ride?
Any children under the age of 12 are not allowed to ride in Ride El Chouf. If the rider is aged 15 years or younger on the day of the ride they must be accompanied by a Parent / Guardian, as nominated at the time of registration
