Speaker Biography
Wael is a finance expert with more than 17 years of experience in numerous fields of finance like investment banking, private equity, venture capital, asset management, brokerage and financial consulting. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Proficient Financials, a boutique advisory firm focusing on private equity and investment banking. During his work at Proficient Financials, Wael executed numerous advisory deals that involved strategy setting, valuation, and raising financing. He also teaches Advanced Corporate Finance at the American University of Beirut.
Prior to working with Proficient Financials, Wael helped launch Amana Capital, an online trading company, and was the Director of Finance and Strategy at the company. He was responsible for setting the strategy of the company and taking care of its finance department.
At the same time, Wael acted as a Vice President at Manara Capital where he worked on several private equity deals in industries ranging from financial services to food and beverage and real estate and consumer goods.
Prior to joining Manara Capital, Wael initiated and led the Equity Research department at Bank Audi and worked with Booz Allen Hamilton (Booz & co.) as an Associate in their Middle East offices.
He holds a Bachelor and Master degrees in Business Administration with Distinction from the American University of Beirut and an MBA from the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business.
