STEP(S) INTO DESIGN by ALBA
STEP(S) INTO DESIGN by ALBA
Step(s) Into Design is a pop-up field game taking place throughout Beirut Design Week in a different location every day. Organized by Global Design, MA students at the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts, the game explores the shifting role of design: a practice fostering innovation and creative problem-solving. By placing the end user at its core, design becomes a practice that transcends aesthetics and shifts into ethics, also known as Human-Centered Design.
The goal of the activity is to walk you (the participants) through the five steps of design over five days, as we travel across neighborhoods to meet you. Everyday a new tool or a methodology will be introduced through a hands–on and interactive exercise to get you familiarized with the different steps of design: Research, Definition, Ideation, Prototyping, and Testing. At the end of each step, you are encouraged to find ways to apply your new learnings in your everyday lives.
This lively workshop is created and lead by ALBA's first year Master Students in Global Design. We study – amongst many other things – design research, service design, design thinking, and systems thinking. We are excited to share with you our enthusiasm and ambition to make our world a better place!
To participate, find us on the daily program and pop-in for a quick interaction. You can join as often as you would like but we encourage you to follow us every day to see how the game evolves!
