Course aim

During this half-day workshop the attendees are introduced to the main Agile principles, practices and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban). Agile as an alternative way of managing project has been demonstrated to lead to better quality and earlier deliverables. However Agile is not a process, but is about looking for new perspectives the way we do things. Through a combination of practical and theory work you will come to understand what Agile could mean for your organization.

Topics Covered

• Understand the Agile Manifesto and what it means to practice them.
• Understand the Foundation of the Scrum & Kanban frameworks
• Discover the basic rules of Kanban methodology
• Review the diagram of mechanics of Scrum: framework, roles, artifacts and flow.

Course Benefits

At the end of this course attendees will have experimented and learned the difference between an Agile and a traditional project management Culture.

In addition we aim to support attendees to understand how Agile could make a positive improvement in project delivery. In particular they will discover that Agile is more than a process – it is in fact a mindset change in the way that we address the traditional aspects of managing a project: scope, time, risk, cost, communication, quality…

This training is for anyone who would like to get introduced to or gain in-depth knowledge of Agile and Scrum. This course helps teams to start their implementation for any type of project whether in sales, marketing, development, or support.

How you will learn

The course has been designed to be highly interactive. It combines a series of simulations, games and presentations.

Facilitator: Pierre Hervouet

Pierre is a consultant with an extensive experience of over 25 years in management and IT. In 2009 He became an “Agilitator”, promoting management approaches based on collaboration, communication and staff empowerment. He is the founder of the NGO Agile Lebanon, board member of the PMI Lebanese Chapter & Managing Partner of Upward Consulting.

He is a regular speaker in project management conferences (Lean Kanban, Agile France, XP days Benelux, Scrum Day Paris, Agile Tour).

Besides his Masters in management from Paris Sorbonne, he is certified in Agile Methodologies: Agile Certified Professional from PMI (PMI-ACP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and Certified Scrum Professional from Scrum Alliance (CSP) , as well as, Innovation Games® Architect.
