Special Miles (S-miles)

1. Who we are:
S-miles (Special Miles) is a specialized inclusive center, founded in January 2010, and includes children with and without special needs.
S-miles center offers early detection and intervention for nurseries (partnership with the syndicate of nurseries' owners in Lebanon), academic programs, extra- curricular activities, and individualized therapies through interactive hands-on and Multi-Sensory experiences.
The approach and techniques adopted by S-miles are what makes it unique and innovative.
S-miles provides each special needs child the opportunity to nurture his/her capacities and improve the skills needed to excel in life.
S-miles is open during the week days from 9:00 am till 7:00 pm (with tutoring in the afternoon) and on Saturdays from 9:00 till 3:00 in the afternoon.
2. Mission:
To give each child with special needs the opportunity to nurture and blossom his/her mental and physical abilities in order to progress and excel in life, while increasing awareness among the parents.
We emphasize on the holistic development of each child including moral, intellectual, social, emotional, physical strength and well‐being.
3. Beliefs:
We believe that every individual with special needs has the right to receive appropriate care without labeling, in an inclusive setting to develop feelings of security and confidence in order to merge and progress within the society.
4. Achievements:
- Winner: 1st prize of the 3rd edition of the Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC), awarded to «S-miles».
The GSVC is initiated by the «UC Berkeley Haas School of Business» and organized by "ESSEC Business School", for the aim of supporting and encouraging social entrepreneurship in Lebanon and the region; In collaboration with BLC Bank and in partnership with Université Saint Joseph, and Berytech.
- Winner: EDIP Entrepreneurship Development Program: UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization, in 2015)
- Winner: Mowgli Foundation at Berytech (2013 - 2014)
- Winner: The Blessing Foundation: To empower women in business (2013)
