UK Lebanon Tech Hub
The UK Lebanon Tech Hub (UKLTH) is an international initiative kick-started by Banque Du Liban and the UK Government through the British Embassy in Beirut. The initiative is privately ran and managed by UK-based PA Consulting.
The UK Lebanon Tech Hub is a two year programme comprising of several activities to support the entrepreneurship and SME landscape in Lebanon with a view to increase GDP and create jobs in the country.
The UK Lebanon Tech Hub offers UK expertise, experience and exposure to support the growth and development of Lebanon’s growing knowledge economy. The Tech Hub will foster a partnership between both countries based on mutual learning, exchange, and collaboration among companies in the private sector in the UK and Lebanon.
Programmes:
1.An International Accelerator which will select 45 Lebanese companies with high growth potential to join a first phase and progress the 15 companies with higher potential to go global to a second phase based in London.
2.A Capacity Building & Signposting Programme that will provide training and mentoring to all Lebanese companies in the knowledge economy as well as investment professionals and banks to increase their exposure to managing and investing in technology companies, their awareness of BDL’s 331, and their capacity to support venture capital and SME investment; the Signposting service to all Lebanese companies in the knowledge economy which will make referrals and introductions to potential partners, suppliers or clients in the UK as well as link the Lebanese diaspora to new entrepreneurs in the same field
3.An Outreach Programme that will support the development of strategic partnerships between the UK and Lebanon and will target schools and universities in Lebanon to promote entrepreneurship
4.A Marketing and Communications plan that will help raise Lebanon’s profile as a Tech Hub for the region and showcase successful Lebanese entrepreneurs worldwide.
